Hi, I'm just wondering if anybody can give me site/info's about nice/good beach resorts in the philippines aside from boracay and palawan 'coz I've been there before already. I'm in canada and I'm going home in the philippines soon, that's why I'm looking for good place to go to.

Thank you very much.

I was considering spending our weekend next week at this resort. Thank you for your comments we dont have to go through this lousy service and bad experience. I know coz I once visited this resort to inquire and I also had a similar experience. I thought that was just an isolated case.

I know the facilities are nice but we are looking for good value for our money and that includes good service.

Hi there! I just had to share my experience with my boyfriend upon reading this blog and its entries. I have to say that I AGREE with the people who complained about the service of Virgin Beach Resort 100%. I have personally been there and I can honestly tell you that based on my experience, their service was HORRIBLE. I suggest that if you have time, you should read this for the truth.

My boyfriend and I were really looking forward to going to Virgin Beach Resort for a beach trip and we saw pictures of Virgin on a website and we thought it looked nice and uncrowded. We assumed that since the prices were higher than the other beach resorts in that area, they probably offered something more than the cheaper (only in price might I add) resorts. Well, we were wrong to judge a resort by its price. More than wrong. When we pulled up to the beach, we were greeted by a very friendly guard who was likeable enough so we were pretty confident that the rest of the staff was going to be the same way. Well, when we met the first staff member that was certainly not the case. We were excited and we saw this old man (who by the way, took around twenty minutes before going out to entertain us) who would not even look at us, had a frown right across his face and when we asked him about special offers or rates he just groaned and wrote numbers across a paper and shoved it at us. Yes, literally SHOVED the paper at us. Then we come in contact with this girl who "greeted" us with, "Ano iyon?". My boyfriend, being the extremely patient guy that he is, managed to talk to her (with a smile on his face and still in the cheeriest of moods, I kid you not) in a polite manner told her we wanted to see the available rooms and we wanted to take a look at the beach and the tents, if that was okay. She asked us repeatedly if we were sure that we were going to stay there and my boyfriend would tell her that we didn't know, we had to look at the room first, yet she was still asking us if we were going to get the room or not. At that point, I wanted to strangle her because she really gave us the impression that she thought that we were just these kids who couldn't really pay up to stay in their resort (and believe me I know, she and the guy had inside jokes she probably thought I couldn't understand, and she would not stop pursing her lips and wrinkling her nose and her one eyebrow looked like it was naturally higher than the other). I don't know what her problem was, we had more than enough money, were dressed to go to the beach and well, we are young adults who do have money. I feel like I should really emphasize that because I think it is so sad that there are so many people in the service industry who roll their eyes at you acting like you can't purchase what they are selling, when really we, the customers, are the ones putting money in their pocket and are the ones who put food on their plate so I really don't get the snotty attitude from people like that. ANYWAY, after we got into an argument with her because she refused to show us the rooms without a downpayment, she begrudgingly got another girl to show us around. It is certainly not half as nice as the pictures on their website and their rooms were U-G-L-Y and one smelled like rotting wood and was very dusty. I also saw the food as we passed by the restaurant and I saw flies passing by the fish, this purple, watery concoction, it just did not look appealing to me at all. The only thing I thought looked decent were the parasols and when we reached the "Reception" (if you can even call it that) we told the girl that we wanted to rent a parasol and scratched her head, whined, "EEEE!", stomped her foot (in that order) and the guy who was with her asked us smugly in Tagalog, "So you won't be renting a cottage?". We said no we would just like to stay in the parasol until the night and he shooks his head at us and said, "Ay Naku!". We also asked if we could bring food or drinks in and the girl told us, "Hindi nga eh! Bawal! Kailangan niyong bumili dito! O baka wala kayong pera pambili?". At that point I was so appalled and offended that I just got my boyfriend's hand and said, "Let's go. This is not even worth it." And the girl and the old man just laughed when we started to leave. Honest to GOD, we had every intention of staying there and we have the money to stay in resorts even more expensive than Virgin Beach Resort but my suggestion and warning to everyone is: DON'T SPEND A SINGLE PESO ON.... On the way out, it was kinda sad because the kind guard asked my boyfriend and I why we were leaving so soon and he looked confused. We just told him that there was something very wrong with the "receptionist". We ended up going to where else, La Luz Beach Resort where it is cheaper, nearer the beach and has MUCH BETTER SERVICE. Granted it is more crowded but I would rather be in the company of a lot of very kind and warm people. I hope I have warned people well enough and hopefully Virgin Beach Resort will change their staff asap. They didn't know they messed with "kids" who major in Business and Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management which focuses on Tourism and the Service Industry.
