My father read in last Sunday’s Philippine Daily Inquirer that Amanpulo (my ultimate dream destination) was offering reduced rates to Philippine residents. I e-mailed them to inquire, and very quickly, and efficiently, got a response.

For the year 2006, you may stay in a beach casita for three nights from June to October 31 for only USD 1,450 ++ (10% service charge and 12% tax) — rate is for double occupancy. This rate already includes breakfast for two and a choice of two daily activities for two persons (e.g. one-hour massage, picnic lunch, private cooking class, etc.). Not bad, huh? Round trip airfare is at USD 200 per person.

You’ll need your Philippine passport as proof of residency to reserve at these rates and you’ll also need to show your passport upon check-in. Otherwise, the regular published rates will apply and you know how high those are.

So, Amanpulo does not seem like too much of a dream anymore. You’ll definitely hear from us when we finally do get there.

To inquire further or to reserve, you may call (02) 7594040. You may also e-mail them at reservations@amanpulo.com
